About this release
Fairuz's Kifak Inta places the Lebanese singer's voice within Ziad Rahbani's arrangements, bringing jazz, funk and Brazilian influences into Arabic music. Produced by her son in the late 1980s, the album first appeared on cassette and CD in 1991. Wewantsounds' reissue gives the complete eleven-track programme a vinyl release, with the original cassette artwork and newly remastered audio from Colorsound Studio in Paris. Mario Choueiry of the Institut du Monde Arabe curated the edition and wrote its French and English liner notes. The title song sits alongside instrumental passages and vocal pieces, preserving the album's varied sequence.
