About this release
Pablo and Shoey revisit two Salsoul recordings for the sixth Downtownsounds Classics release on Fatty Fatty Phonographics. The A-side extends Bunny Sigler's By The Way You Dance, taking inspiration from the earlier Big Bear edit and giving its groove more room to develop. On the reverse, their treatment of First Choice's Hold Your Horses pays tribute to hearing Daniele Baldelli play the song. It strips the arrangement back before building through effects, strings and vocals towards its climax. Licensed from the Salsoul catalogue, the two reworks connect the duo's Dublin dancefloor experience with formative influences on their approach to disco.
