About this release
Fingerman’s Edit This, Damn You! brings three reworks to Wax Digits, the vinyl-focused offshoot of Hot Digits. Bang! opens with a chunky dub-disco treatment, using effects to stretch the arrangement and give its groove extra space. On the reverse, Bestest Beat centres on a heavy, looping bass-guitar line, extending the connection between funk and deeper disco. We Love It closes with strings and a fuller disco-funk arrangement. The three cuts move through different textures while sharing the label founder’s focus on rhythm, from the more spacious A-side to the bass-led and orchestral touches on the flip.
