About this release
François K and Dimitri From Paris join forces around a shared love of the disco and boogie records made at Compass Point Studio in the Bahamas. The Nassau Excursion draws on that sound through weighty bass, drum machines, early-eighties synth textures and hand percussion, with space echo and tape delay opening up the arrangements. DJ Rocca features on The Compass Point, followed by 2 Da Riddim and Steppers Revenge. Across the three tracks, the pair explore the meeting of dance-floor rhythm and spacious dub production that made the studio’s records distinctive.
