About this release
Real Tone Classics Vol. 6 returns to the Real Tone Records archives for a four-track Franck Roger selection. The limited 12-inch pairs Why Don’t You Stay, featuring Rona Ray, with Volt on the A-side, while Mister Henderson and My Own Thing complete the record on the reverse. The collection draws together the deep and soulful house sides of the label’s catalogue in a single vinyl edition.
Rona Ray’s vocal gives ‘Why Don’t You Stay’ a warm, buoyant opening, before ‘Volt’ moves into hazier electronic territory. ‘Mister Henderson’ centres on lilting synth motifs and chords, while ‘My Own Thing’ brings a heavier bass presence. The record draws on more than two decades of Real Tone releases.
