About this release
Tom Rankin introduces Frequencies Of Love on Not An Animal Records with three originals and a Fantastic Man remix. ‘Tucan’ opens around shifting synthesiser arpeggios, while ‘Bpsyde’ combines percussive breaks, a progressive bassline, keys and chopped vocal fragments. ‘Pegasus’ turns towards an Italo-influenced groove, with choral chanting and spoken female vocals circling its rhythm. Fantastic Man rebuilds that track around a reprogrammed bassline and piano chords, allowing elements of the original to reappear within a different arrangement. The four-track EP connects bright, melodic house with breakbeat movement and the label’s Balearic sensibility.
