About this release
GB’s Herzsprung began with lyrics assembled from cut-up copies of London’s Metro newspaper. The Copenhagen songwriter and producer developed those fragments into a record drawing on fusion jazz, noise-rock, grunge and outsider pop. Working with a group of collaborators in rural Sweden, he recorded the songs largely live to 24-track tape, leaving space for the band’s collective instincts. The result moves beyond the downtempo character of his debut towards fuller melodies and more direct performances. Alba Akvama features on Pipe Dream, while a choir joins the album’s later stretch on Shit River. Released through AD 93.
