About this release
Geese's Getting Killed grew from ten days of recording with Kenneth Blume at his Los Angeles studio, with little time set aside for overdubbing. The New York band's third album brings garage-rock riffs, choir samples and drum-machine textures into a restless set of songs that moves between tenderness and abrasive repetition. “Trinidad” opens the record, with “100 Horses”, “Au Pays Du Cocaine” and “Taxes” appearing along the way to the extended closer “Long Island City Here I Come”. The performances hold the album's abrupt changes together, giving its unsettled arrangements a direct physical energy. This clear vinyl edition includes an eight-panel fold-out lyric insert.
