About this release
Dutch six-piece Gene Gene brings together two relaxed, atmospheric recordings made with Nic Mauskovic. The band developed its sound at home and on stages around Amsterdam, including shows supporting Jungle By Night. 'Loud N’ Stuff' grew from disco and new-wave jams at the group’s Haarlem studio, with a balance of spontaneous playing and song structure. On the reverse, 'Pada Pada' connects tropical percussion with lush chord changes. Additional passes through the mixer introduced dub treatments and delays, extending the sense of space around the musicians. Dopeness Galore presents both tracks on this two-sided 12-inch.
