About this release
Mr Bongo pairs two Brazilian recordings on this Brazil 45s single. Georgette’s ‘Kiriê’, taken from her 1976 album A Moca do Mar, sets her voice against shifting guitar chords, layered percussion, subtle strings and male backing vocals. On the reverse, Claudia performs ‘Com Mais de 30’, written by Marcos Valle and Paulo Sérgio Valle. Originally issued on her 1971 album Jesus Cristo, that recording combines fuzz guitar, piano and strong drum and percussion parts with Claudia’s lead vocal. The pairing brings together two different approaches to MPB and funk, each given a side of this 7-inch.
