About this release
Soft Shakes is Go Kurosawa’s first solo album, made through sessions with himself at Guruguru Brain’s Rotterdam studio. The Kikagaku Moyo drummer and vocalist plays the instruments, mixes and produces the record, bringing guitars, bass, keyboards, clarinet, trumpet, percussion and voice into an eight-track set. Rather than assigning parts to a band, he built the music by picking up instruments and following ideas as they developed. Moon, Please opens the album, with Autowalk and Jungle Cooking on the reverse before Rice Harvesting Day and Cloud Rock close it. The result keeps the looseness of a jam while exploring a self-contained musical world.
