About this release
Gumbae Culture's Take It Easy pairs a vocal recording from New York's digital roots scene with its stripped-back version. Ricky 'Mad Man' Myrie produced the track at Philip Smart's HC&F Studio on Long Island, with engineering by Michel McDonald. Xylophone phrases, sharp snares and deep bass frame Culture's voice, while the version gives the rhythm more space. A Jah Shaka selection, the recording is reissued on seven-inch vinyl through Death Is Not The End's 333 series. The two sides keep the vocal and instrumental treatments together.
