About this release
Gustav Brom’s ‘Calling Up The Rain’ brings the scale of a Czechoslovakian big band to a Latin groove. First issued on his 1976 album ‘Gustav Brom Plays For You Pop Jazz And Swing’, the piece makes room for organ, trumpet and guitar solos within its rhythmic arrangement. Panorama pairs it with ‘Summer Song’, also presented with its Slovak title, ‘Letna Piesen’. The two recordings connect jazz ensemble playing with the dancefloor, with the title track’s solo passages taking the lead. This seven-inch edition is remastered and housed in a redesigned picture sleeve.
