About this release
Two distinct sides of Gwen McCrae’s music meet here: the tightened boogie pulse of Doin’ It and the laid-back soul groove of 90% Of Me Is You. Doin’ It comes from her 1982 album On My Way, bringing the sharper rhythmic feel of her early-eighties recordings into focus. The flip reaches back to her seventies sound, letting the contrast between the two eras frame a voice equally at home with relaxed soul and dance-floor funk.
