About this release
Hakumba’s The Garden brings the Budapest ensemble’s Afrobeat roots into a more harmonically detailed jazz setting. Written during a week-long countryside retreat and recorded at Galyatető, the EP balances rhythmic movement with a dreamlike, cinematic atmosphere. The eleven-piece band combines an expansive horn section with guitars, keys, percussion and several vocalists. Song For Ramon forms an emotional centre, written in response to the loss of a close friend, while Walk In The Garden features Pattantyús Balázs. András Weil produced, recorded, mixed and mastered the release. Blue Sun presents the four tracks on a black ten-inch record.
