About this release
Huw Marc Bennett builds Tresilian Bay from a live session at Total Refreshment Centre, reshaping the recordings through his production and multi-instrumental work. Chelsea Carmichael’s saxophone, Rosie Turton’s trombone, Shirley Tetteh’s guitar and Jake Long’s drums join Bennett’s bass and compositions, with vocals from Miryam Solomon. The music draws on jazz, Afrobeat and highlife alongside electronic production and the psychedelic influence of Bennett’s Welsh background. Named after a bay near his childhood home, the album connects that landscape with the musical community he found in south-east London. Adam Scrimshire mixed and mastered the record, with artwork by Jonny Drop.
