About this release
Pete Cunningham’s Ishmael Ensemble expands its meeting of jazz, dub and electronic production on Visions Of Light. The first side draws on the Bristol group’s live energy, moving from Holysseus Fly’s vocal on ‘Feather’ into the transformed textures of ‘Wax Werk’ and the darker momentum that follows. The reverse opens with ‘Looking Glass’, featuring vocalist and harpist STANLAEY, before further collaborations lead towards ‘The Gift’ and ‘January’. Cunningham produced and arranged the album, with additional production and mixing by Ali Chant. This red-vinyl reissue of the ten-track record includes an A4 insert booklet.
