About this release
Jack Adkins recorded ‘American Sunset’ at London Music studio in Tampa in the early 1980s, pairing guitars with drum machines for a solitary take on American songwriting. His background in Cincinnati garage bands gives way here to a more personal sound, where folk-rooted songs meet electronic rhythm. Adkins later toured as Jamin’ Jack, the One Man Band, carrying the album’s master tapes and selling records and cassettes on the road. That travelling life provides a fitting backdrop to these eight songs, from the title track through ‘Off The Road’ to ‘Lookin’ For A Lady’. This Déjà Vu Kid edition is pressed on sunset yellow vinyl.
