About this release
Jackie Stoudemire’s Flying High and Guilty draw on her 1982 sessions with TAP Records’ Jeremiah Yisrael and songwriter Gene Redd. Ten songs were recorded during that period, and this seven-inch brings two of the resulting performances together. Flying High takes a funk-driven disco approach on the first side and receives its first vinyl release here. Guilty, on the reverse, was among Redd’s later compositions, placing Stoudemire’s voice within another carefully arranged production. The reissue connects the two recordings as a single, using the yellow-label presentation and white sleeve specified for this TAP edition.
