About this release
Unreleased & Rarities gathers Jean Schwarz’s archive recordings from 1972 to 2002, focusing on shorter works created for dance, screen and the performing arts. A member of the Groupe de Recherches Musicales from 1969 to 1999, Schwarz also worked in the ethnomusicology department at the Musée de l’Homme in Paris. The collection moves from Etude Longue and Prologue, Maison Rouge through pieces such as Kodo, Cloches and Calligraphy, revealing different scales of his electronic and electroacoustic writing. Jonathan Fitoussi remastered the recordings from the original tapes, with notes by Daniel Teruggi accompanying this Transversales Disques edition.
