About this release
Jerome Derradji brings three contrasting disco treatments to Stilove4music’s Do Or Don’t EP. Disco Don’t opens with a faster, direct dance-floor approach, while Jazz Do moves into a mellower, psychedelic jazz-disco setting. Derradji adds live piano and Fender Rhodes to the latter, combining his playing with electronic programming. Never closes the record with a warmer, Brazilian-influenced groove, again shaped through additional programming. Produced at the Hirsch Society For Togetherness in Chicago, the set connects the label’s edit-led dance music with a more hands-on approach to arrangement and performance.
