Joan Bibiloni - Ray Mang Edits

Ray Mang takes two officially licensed Joan Bibiloni recordings onto the dancefloor for Gouranga Music. 'The Boogie' gives him a funk-rooted starting point, extended with carefully placed echoes that leave the original groove at the centre. On the flip, 'Val, I Vuw Ya' moves into Bibiloni’s Balearic territory, where acoustic guitar and chromonica circle one another. Mang stretches the original three-and-a-half-minute piece into a six-minute edit, giving those details more room to unfold. The pairing connects two sides of the Mallorcan musician’s catalogue through a producer who understands how to open a track out without losing its character.
