João Comazzi & Murrin - Sol Novo

João Comazzi and Murrin follow Cavalo with Sol Novo, a three-track 12-inch on Sound Of Speed. The title cut works its way through dubbed-out samples and bright choruses, with small details moving around the groove. It’s house music with a loose, colourful feel, drawing as much from organic rhythms as from the club.

‘Pindorama’, featuring Pazsarinha, sets circling breaks and côco rhythms against a deep bassline, keeping one foot on the dancefloor while the arrangement drifts elsewhere. ‘Brasia’ closes the record with vintage synths, gagaku elements and axêxê chants. Across the three tracks, Comazzi and Murrin bring these different references into music that stays rhythmic, spacious and full of movement.
