About this release
Now & Then draws together John Beltran and Open House recordings from the 1990s, alongside remixes by Detroit In Effect and Terrace. The selection includes Aquatic, first released on Carl Craig’s Retroactive label in 1991, and Craig’s own mix of the track. Five previously released recordings and two unreleased Beltran productions from the same decade form the archive material, with the two later remixes taking the music in new directions. Rainforest, Earth & Nightfall and Fragile connect melodic techno with deeper electronic textures. Emotions Electric presents the collection across two records, tracing the early catalogue while opening it to fresh interpretations.
