About this release
Josan's Vendedor De Mangaios and Bartô Galeno's Vou Tirar Você Daqui form the ninetieth release in Mr Bongo's Brazil 45s series. Josan's song comes from his 1981 Copacabana album Rio De Renovações, combining forró rhythm with a boogie and funk feel. On the reverse, Galeno's recording draws from his self-titled 1977 album on Tapecar. Its larger orchestral sound and synthesizer details place it between MPB, funk and rock rather than within a single style. The pairing shows two different approaches to Brazilian song, bringing their contrasting arrangements together on one 7-inch.
