Kavinsky - Nightcall

Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’ pairs his distorted vocal with Lovefoxxx’s contrasting delivery over a slow electronic pulse. Produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and mixed by SebastiAn, the track became closely associated with the opening sequence of Drive. This Record Makers 12-inch places the original alongside ‘Pacific Coast Highway’, whose narrated car chase unfolds over Kavinsky’s arpeggiated synth sound.

The reverse offers two alternative takes: Dustin N’Guyen remixes ‘Nightcall’, and Jackson reworks ‘Pacific Coast Highway’. Across the four tracks, the release brings together the song’s nocturnal atmosphere, its companion’s faster-moving narrative and two distinct remix approaches. It is a concise introduction to Kavinsky’s cinematic electronic world, presented with both originals and both remixes on one record.
