About this release
Keith Mansfield's Contempo moves between tightly played funk and more relaxed library grooves. The KPM album's first side puts drums, bass and horns to work on pieces including The Fix, What's Cooking and Cut To Music, with Man Alive and Funky Footage completing that run.
The reverse takes a softer route through Breezin', Good Vibrations and Sun Goddess before Love Deluxe and Snake Hips. Mansfield's arrangements keep the record coherent across the change in pace, balancing short, direct compositions with the detail of a full studio ensemble. Be With Records presents the ten-track album on vinyl.
