About this release
“Groovy Situation” appears in two alternative dubplate mixes from Lee “Scratch” Perry’s Black Ark recordings. Issued as part of Studio 16’s Black Art Dubplate Style series, the record draws on sessions from the mid-1970s and presents one mix on each side. The pairing gives two perspectives on the song within Perry’s Black Ark production, keeping the focus on the vocal and its changing musical setting.
