About this release
Kelly Moran began shaping Don't Trust Mirrors after touring Ultraviolet in 2019, drawing on late nights on the dancefloor for a more rhythmic direction. Personal upheaval and interrupted touring changed the course of that work, with Moves in the Field arriving first in 2024. Returning to the paused project, Moran explores distortion, reflection and the gradual process of rebuilding a sense of self. Warp labelmate Bibio joins her on the title track, part of a set whose shifting textures connect the composer's interest in rhythm with a search for focus and reconnection.
