About this release
Khruangbin return to the material of their debut on The Universe Smiles Upon You ii, recording new performances in the Texas barn where the original took shape. Laura Lee, Mark Speer and Donald Johnson revisit the songs with a decade of shared playing behind them, allowing the arrangements and running order to change. Bin Bin moves into the centre of the sequence, while People Everywhere expands into a longer performance. The recordings retain sounds from the barn and its surroundings, including birdsong on August Twelve. This M. Blanc double-vinyl edition presents ten newly recorded versions, with space for the trio’s instrumental interplay.
