About this release
Real Rock reissues First, Second and Third Generation of Dub, bringing together King Tubby, Prince Jammy and Scientist. Originally released on KG Imperial in 1981, the album captures three distinctive approaches to the mixing desk.
The dub mixes were produced between 1979 and 1980 for North London’s Fatman Hi Fi sound system. All eight tracks are remastered for this vinyl edition, documenting the connections between Jamaican studio innovation and UK sound system culture.
