About this release
Klein Volk return to Antinote with In Weelde Verbrast, following their debut Gulden Onversneden. The trio of Marie Baeke, Timo Bonneure and Wesley Buysse frame the album around the overlooked details of everyday life, approaching its themes with playfulness rather than solemnity. Their electronic music draws together leftfield rhythms, synthesizer textures and elements of house, jazz and experimental pop. Shorter passages sit alongside more extended pieces across the two sides, giving the record room for both concise ideas and gradual development. The result reflects the group’s interest in whim, small observations and the space between familiar musical forms.
