About this release
Tour De France is Kraftwerk’s 2003 album, originally titled Tour De France Soundtracks and inspired by the centenary of the cycling race. Its twelve tracks connect the rhythm of movement with the body’s workings, from the three Étape sections and Chrono to Vitamin, Aéro Dynamik and Elektro Kardiogramm. Precise electronic pulses, repeated phrases and processed voices create a continuous sense of forward motion, with the closing title track revisiting the group’s earlier cycling song. This Parlophone edition presents the album across translucent red and blue vinyl LPs. The full programme begins with Prologue and follows the complete sequence through the closing title track.
