About this release
Landlord’s I Like It pairs its widely sampled piano stabs and bass line with the club sound of 1989. Produced by Nick Fiorucci, the original Blow Out Dub became part of the musical vocabulary that later fed into hardcore, jungle and breakbeat. This Big Shot release places that version alongside The Maghreban’s Revenge Mix, a reworking that draws on the record’s history and its later sampled incarnations. The two treatments connect the original’s house foundation with a producer whose approach reflects a close interest in the rhythms that followed it.
