About this release
Larry Heard’s Ice Castles returns to Alleviated as a remastered double LP, restoring all twelve pieces from the album originally issued in 1995 as Sceneries Not Songs – Volume Tu. Its gentle rhythms and spacious melodies draw on deep house, ambient music, jazz and R&B, revealing the more reflective side of Heard’s writing.
Crystal Fantasy, Carla’s Dance and the title track favour atmosphere and feeling over club impact, while the expanded vinyl format gives the complete album room to breathe. This is the limited dark blue transparent marbled pressing, issued in an edition of 250 copies.
