About this release
Le Stim’s A Tribute To Muhammad Ali (We Crown The King) is a Detroit recording from 1980, written and produced by Herbert Andrei Duncan and sung by Donald Jennings. Recorded with a seventeen-piece group in Southfield, Michigan, the song turns its tribute to the boxer into a vocal-led dancefloor anthem. Melodies International’s reissue pairs the original-length version with an extended take, allowing the arrangement more room on the B-side. Officially licensed, the recording was remastered and cut to half-speed lacquers for playback at 45rpm, bringing the two versions back together on twelve-inch vinyl.
Format: Remastered, half-speed-cut 12" vinyl, 45rpm
