About this release
Don Thigpen records as Leo on ‘Fee Fi Fo Fum’, an electro-funk song inspired by the computer fascination of the early 1980s. Its story imagines a computer falling in love with a woman and trying to communicate through words on its screen. Although this was Thigpen’s first recording as a featured artist, he already had studio experience around Jackson, Mississippi, including work connected to his CJR label. Athens Of The North pairs the song with its dub version, giving each treatment one side of the 7-inch. The edition comes in a handmade Riso sleeve, with 450 copies pressed.
