About this release
Recorded in Pointe-Noire and first issued in 1982, this album from the Cercle Biblique Évangélique brings gospel singing together with psychedelic grooves, folk, funk and Afro-Latin rhythms. Produced by Adam Julien Koubemba for Adamsol Record Edition, the eight-track programme combines multilingual vocals with layered, interlocking rhythms. Bu Uzenzilanga and Mpungi Mu Mazulu open the record, while Oh! Alleluya and Sala Bisala feature on the reverse. Wayonwayon’s official reissue restores the album from the original tapes, presenting the complete recording on a single LP and returning its spiritual and rhythmic focus to vinyl.
