About this release
Little Simz's Lotus brings punk, jazz and Afrobeat influences into a wide-ranging hip-hop record, with a large cast of guests adding different voices and instrumental colours. Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly join “Flood”, while Moses Sumney and Miraa May appear on “Peace”. The title track brings Michael Kiwanuka and Yussef Dayes into the album's centre, and Sampha closes the guest list on “Blue”. Across thirteen tracks, Simz moves between direct rhythmic passages and more open, melodic arrangements. This electric pink double-vinyl edition is pressed on 180g records and housed in an embossed gatefold sleeve with spot-varnished detail.
