About this release
FUNKSOULSEX is the debut album from London singer Liv East, bringing together the rhythmic pull of funk, the warmth of neo-soul and contemporary R&B. Its songs explore desire, intimacy and the complications of connection, with East's vocals set against production that draws on vintage equipment and electronic textures.
Brighton duo AMIcity contribute to a record that follows East's LVE1 EP and develops the musical approach described in its title. Across ten tracks, including Sugar Rush, Fever Dream and Projections, the emphasis is on groove and expressive singing. This EMK edition is pressed on clear lilac vinyl.
