About this release
Louie Vega, Leroy Burgess and Patrick Adams revisit Barely Breaking Even for BBE Music's 500th release. The Boogie Mix keeps a connection with the Universal Robot Band original, using live strings performed by The Apple Hill String Quartet and arranged by Adams and Burgess. Vega's NYC House Remix takes the song into a faster rhythmic setting, with a newly arranged horn section and revised melody developed with Burgess. This double-twelve-inch edition includes both main versions and their instrumentals, presenting four approaches to the performance in a gatefold sleeve and connecting disco-boogie arrangements with New York house production.
Format: 2 × 12" vinyl in gatefold sleeve
