About this release
Loveshadow's self-titled debut brings together Anya's singing and songwriting with Izaak's synthesizers, bass and percussion. The Californian duo recorded the album mainly in the Bay Area between 2017 and 2020, with further work made during travels elsewhere in the United States. Their shared interest in disco informs a set that also draws on electronic pop and DIY funk, combining intimate vocals with layered keyboard arrangements and understated rhythms. The eight-track vinyl programme includes No Control, Pleasure Idler and Tableaux Vivant. Music From Memory presents the album as a single LP, keeping the digital-only bonus track separate from the record.
