About this release
Luxxury’s eighth volume brings together four edits that move between house, post-punk and pop, with basslines carrying much of the momentum. Don’t Just Stand There takes a classic house anthem into dubbier territory, while Ban That Boogie Sound draws out the slinky low end of a new-wave cut. Watch Out Boy turns towards Motown-inflected bass and an eighties pop duo, before Feel That Heat opens up a warmer blend of Rhodes, strings and vocals. The emphasis throughout is on extending the groove and finding fresh space within familiar material, rather than crowding the arrangements.
