About this release
The Early Years brings together the first two Male Productions releases by The True Underground Sound Of Rome. Emerging around Francesco 'Chicco' Furlotti's label in the early 1990s, Stefano Di Carlo, Leo Young and Mauro Tannino developed a sound that moved between house, techno and ambient electronics. Roland drum machines, analogue synthesizers and Akai samplers shaped recordings connected to the city's developing rave scene. This collection restores seven tracks from those early records, including Secret Doctrine, Goa-Goa and both versions of Clouds. Spread across two records, the selection documents the collective's atmospheric approach to rhythm and melody.
