About this release
Manny Steelo makes his vinyl debut with six raw house tracks for Star Creature's Global Caress imprint. The Brooklyn-via-New Jersey producer works with an analogue approach, keeping the arrangements sparse and the rhythms direct. East Coast Waves, Rising Sun and 5 A.M. occupy the first side, followed by Put Em On Work, Slot Machine Groove and Jackpot. The release draws on the house traditions of N.Y. House'n Authority, Jerzzey Boy and Ron Trent, placing its emphasis on texture and feeling rather than elaborate production. A compact introduction to Steelo's stripped-back sound, with each side presenting three distinct pieces.
