About this release
Marc Mac presents Dirty Old Hip Hop through his Visioneers project, revisiting the musical sources behind familiar hip-hop breaks. Originally released in 2006, the album brings musicians Somatik and Luke Parkhouse together with guests including Voice and Capitol A, rebuilding grooves through performance as well as production. Replay, Runnin' and The World Is Yours place the focus on rhythm and arrangement, while Dirty Old Bossa Nova draws a different connection through its Latin feel. This anniversary edition presents the album across six seven-inch records, bringing its mixture of jazz, funk and hip-hop into a box set programme.
