About this release
Mariko Ide offers two interpretations of DeBarge’s ‘I Like It’ on this Jet Set seven-inch. The Lovers Reggae Mix places her vocal over a relaxed reggae rhythm, retaining the original song’s melodic R&B character. On the reverse, a bossa arrangement brings a softer acoustic feel to the same composition. Drawn from earlier compilation recordings, the pairing presents two different rhythmic settings for Ide’s clear, expressive delivery.
