Marshall Jefferson Vs. Noosa Heads - Mushrooms

Marshall Jefferson’s spoken vocals meet Noosa Heads’ production on ‘Mushrooms’, originally released on Soap Records in 1996. This Airtight 12-inch brings together four interpretations, including Salt City Orchestra’s Out There Mix, first issued by the label in 1998. Its deep, hypnotic treatment sits alongside Trevino’s rolling remix, which receives its first vinyl release here. Frits Wentink adds a stripped-back version built around percussion and atmosphere, while MIDGE provides a further reworking with the 2025 Mix. The selection follows the same distinctive vocal through different rhythmic settings, from the spacious Salt City Orchestra arrangement to more driving club treatments.
