About this release
Matt Wilde’s Find A Way brings jazz improvisation into close contact with detailed beat programming. Released through his Hello World imprint, the album pairs his upright piano and Rhodes with Aaron Wood’s trumpet, recorded in Wood’s rural Huddersfield studio. The title track lets a looping introduction develop into a conversation between keys and trumpet, while Windup leans into deeper bass and glitching rhythms. It’s Ok, Feel It draws on the drum sounds of UK club music. Across nine tracks, Wilde follows the spontaneity of performance while shaping the arrangements through electronic production, keeping the two approaches in constant exchange.
