About this release
Maurice Moore's debut album yields two standout 45 cuts, pairing lead soul-funk track Freeway with his original mid-tempo take on Everything That Shines Ain't Gold.
Recorded at home in 1976 and mixed at Pegasus Studios in Warren, Ohio, both tracks capture Moore's self-contained "Town Sound": locally rooted, family-built soul music with no label constraints and a loose groove inspired by Chocolate Milk's Action Speaks Louder Than Words.
